Just to get a few things clear...
-
The United States military does not have a draft. Any and all personnel serving are there because they volunteered.
-
When volunteering, the volunteer signs a "Term Of Service" agreement with the United States government. Signing said agreement is a condition of "employment" with the United States military.
-
The "Term Of Service" agreement is considered a legally binding contract between the two parties.
-
Joshua Key violated the "Term Of Service" agreement. He bailed. He willfully broke his legally binding contract. He decided that he didn't want to live up to his end of the bargain.
-
In order to avoid facing the consequences of his actions, Joshua Key decided to seek asylum in Canada because Canada is kind to law breakers from other countries, if those law breakers were breaking the law for a valid reason.
-
Canada decided, based on Canadian values, that Joshua Key didn't have a valid reason for breaking the laws in his home country. As such, Canada decided to not grant Joshua Key the asylum he seeks.
-
Joshua Key and his wife have been in Canada since 2005. They brought with them 4 children, one of which was 6 months old at the time.
-
Children need medical care and schooling. In Canada medical care and schooling are provided by the taxpayer.
-
In order to support a family in Canada one has to either have a job or draw welfare.
-
In Canada, welfare is provided by the taxpayer.
-
As "non-residents", Joshua Key and his wife wouldn't have to pay Canadian income taxes if they were working.
Free healthcare. Free schooling. Free income. Tax-free income. Free from criminal prosecution for contract violation in his home country...
It's no wonder Joshua Key want's to prolong his stay in Canada:
Toronto — An American army deserter who says he witnessed U.S. military atrocities against civilians in Iraq hopes to persuade the courts Wednesday that Canada was wrong to deny him refugee status on the basis he didn't have to commit war crimes.
But Joshua Key, 29, a father of four, faces an uphill struggle before Federal Court in light of similar decisions that have gone against dozens of other American war dodgers who have claimed asylum in this country.
In denying his refugee claim, the Immigration and Refugee Board essentially decided in November 2006 that while Key may have been ordered to violate the Geneva Conventions which govern armed conflict, he wasn't implicated in war crimes...
This criminal is costing you and I, as Canadians, considerable tax dollars...

The black male socialist has the popular vote but he's a rascist and if he gets the nod, the dems won't win the oval office. The party could use it's "super-delegates" to give the nomination to the white female socialist but she lies a lot and if she gets the nod, the dems won't win the oval office. Internally, their party would implode. Can you imagine what would happen if the party took the nomination away from the black male socialist, who rightfully won it, and then gave it to the white female socialist? The charges of rascism and discrimination that'd be leveled on the party would be huge. The party knows this is where it's headed so they're considering entering a white male socialist into the mix. The white male socialist is rascist and lies a lot too but he won an Oscar and Nobel Prize for it so they're thinking he could be a safe bet :
Senior Democrats mull Al Gore's nomination
By Tim Shipman in Washington
Last Updated: 2:23am BST 30/03/2008
Plans for Al Gore to take the Democratic presidential nomination as the saviour of a bitterly divided party are being actively discussed by senior figures and aides to the former vice-president.
The bloody civil war between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama has left many Democrats convinced that neither can deliver a knockout blow to the other and that both have been so damaged that they risk losing November's election to the Republican nominee, John McCain.
Former Gore aides now believe he could emerge as a compromise candidate acceptable to both camps at the party's convention in Denver during the last week of August.
Two former Gore campaign officials have told The Sunday Telegraph that a scenario first mapped out by members of Mr Gore's inner circle last May now has a sporting chance of coming true.
Mr Gore, who was Bill Clinton's vice-president and has since won a Nobel Peace Prize and an Oscar for his work on green issues, remains an influential figure eight years after he beat George W Bush in the popular vote but lost the White House after the Florida recount fiasco.
The opening has emerged because opinion polls show Mr McCain stretching his lead over both Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton, whose campaigns are engaged in a daily cycle of attacks, character assassination and mutual recriminations on religion, race and the economy.
This would be funny if it weren't so sad...

Note in the Graph below 2 of 3 reconstructions that go back to 900 AD say it was warmer back in the MWP than it is now.
[Which I cleaned from the bottom image. ]
So Esper et al and Moberg et al have evidence of the MWP in the image below, then there's:
the Viking farms now in permafrost
The crops in Europe that can't be grown where they could 1000 yrs ago because it's too cold now.
Lastly [for now] I submit the elephant seal breeding grounds of Antarctica that were warmer 1000 yrs ago.
Good lefties will pay attention to none of that.
So I would say there is evidence of a global phenomenon called the MWP there is evidence on the ground as well as proxy evidence that it was warmer about a thousand years ago then now. I have to thank blogger scruffyDan who I would link to if he wasn't such a troll, still
I should thank him for pointing out the Esper et al and Moberg et al studies which for some reason the National academy of sciences doesn't talk about they blather on about Mann so much because, well they are cherry picking.
You may wonder who the dissenter is with the red line below the only one to go to the MWP and shows it warmer now, that was by Mann home of the poor data handling and obsolete proxy records hockey stick ignored in the latest IPCC release.
The graph this was created from here below.
