From Mitchieville :

Same-Sex Books Removed From Schools After Moslem Anger

Bristol City Council said the two schools had been using the books to ensure they complied with gay rights laws which came into force last April.

They were intended to help prevent homophobic bullying, it said.

But the council has since removed the books from Easton Primary School and Bannerman Road Community School, both in Bristol.

Around 40 are said to have gathered at Easton to speak to staff and another 50 at Bannerman Road.

Members of the Bristol Muslim Cultural Society said parents were upset at the lack of consultation over the use of the materials.

He added: "In Islam homosexual relationships are not acceptable, as they are not in Christianity and many other religions but the main issue is that they didn't bother to consult with parents.

Let's face it, Christians have begged for books like this to be removed from schools for years, but all they were left with was the words, "intolerant", ringing out of their ears after they left the meeting. Yet, when the Islamic community demanded these books be taken away, the liberal administration folded faster than a garden chair.

However, school officials don't fear Christians. No one fears Christians. Moslems though? That's another question. School officials were willing to *suspend* the law in order to cater to these Moslems. School board officials got scared, they got spooked by the Moslems. Standing up for homosexuals was not the hill where school administrators were willing to die on.

Can't say that we didn't see this coming...

I wonder if the gay activists will continue to show up and proudly wave their flags at the pro-terrorist rallys:

This is ridiculous, even for Canada. Under exactly what reasoning are they giving Islam authority over the schools while simultaneously telling Christians that seperation of church and state is absolute?

I am a homosexual and I demand that Islam not be given special veto rights over freedom of speech. For us, the next step could easily be public execution for violating Sharia law.

Then, of course, Richard, there is a core question:

Are the Islamic folks *correct* in demanding the removal of the same-sex materials?

Or, put another way: are efforts to remove same-sex materials an example of to-be-valued common ground between authoritarian Christians and authoritarian Muslims?

I'm not a Christian Ron so I can't speak to their views with any sort of authority. I think they may feel some sort of relief that the books are being removed but they're extremely disturbed that is being done to appease Muslims.

I suggest you start voicing your concerns with your lobby. Your sexual deviance lifestyle is at risk if the Islamisation of the western world continues apace...

Well no sustainable culture supports homosexuality.

The fact is Christians can yell at the top of our lungs and all that will happen is Richard Warman will take time out from earning his retirement to call black senators names because they don't support homosexuality.

It says something about the intolerance and hatefulness of socialists towards Christianity and Christians.

Why is hating Christians ok?

I have to add Ron do you think that homosexuals should be forced to read Christian materials about homosexuality. All that stuff about how they are not going to go to heaven that Anglicans are oblivious to.

Do you think Muslims should be coerced to dress as Jews the way socialists make us folk dress as Muslims? Funny how tolerance is always one way.

I'm all for getting schools to spend as much time flogging Christianity as they do the sin called homosexuality.

Hi Dinosaur: No I don't think gay folks ought to be forced to read Christian stuff but then I don't think Christians ought to be forced to read gay stuff either--and I think parents ought to have some say in what *their* children are exposed to, but not so much say in what other folks' kids are exposed to.

I have no problem with any information from anybody being "made available", though--and open discussion on anything is also fine with me, as long as folks can decide to take part or not.

I'm a free-market anarcho-capitalist libertarian. I'm fairly conservative personally, but quite tolerant as to how other people wish to live their lives.
