Rachel Heinrichs, Winnipeg South Centre NDP candidate says, firearms offender and pusher Gary Sran
Written by Dinosaur
Wednesday, 01 October 2008
This is sad this guy pushes drugs, takes part in a drive by shooting and an NDP candidate sticks up for him to the point of being his campaign manager. Yeah the NDP support safe streets sure Rachel, sure. Rachel Heinrichs worked as a campaign manager for one of these SOB's. First I have to point out I did want to contact her but they do not have a phone number or an email address or a website posted,... Because there could be 2 heavily politically involved Rachel Heinrichs at the U of M. Well possibly, I'm also going to win the 649 tonight. I am going to leave the NDP a message to try and deny it while I dig further & further.
On August 4th 2003 the two accused were at the Latin Club, 500 Portage Ave. at which time six shots were fired into the building and a parked vehicle. After a lengthy undercover operation the males involved were arrested and found to be in possession of: - approximately one kilo of crack cocaine SV- $38,500.00 - $7,360.00 cash was seized. These two males were then linked to the shooting incident on Portage Ave. Search warrants were executed at each of their respective addresses where additional drugs and weapons were seized. Drug Officers in a separate investigation executed a Search Warrant at an address on Manitoba Ave where additional cash and drugs were seized- - 50 Oz of cocaine SV $115,000.00 - $12,000 in cash
This arrest and seizure of drugs and weapons represents a significant amount of drugs in the City of Winnipeg and clearly demonstrates the linkage between the Drug Trade and the level of violence associated.
winnipeg.ca/police Well a level of violence that doesn't matter to the NDP, candidate, I'm sure she cares about the innocents that this pusher was corrupting. Or other people got involved with him and they shouldn't have. So when he was convicted previously and on parole and when he violated parole he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. You know she'll be as good as Anita nEville at fighting crime. The guy was a pusher and a drug dealer, well look who the NDP's sticking up for at dinner? jus.gov.mb.ca
Full Title of Proceedings (CR04-01-25474)

BETWEEN: HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN -AND- GURJEET SINGH SRAN ALSO KNOWN AS GARRY SINGH SRAN ACCUSED.

Diversity always triumphs public safety. He should still be in jail but the NDP candidate will not have it.

So because they delayed the video statement he gets off?? This is a total miscarriage of justice. you might know the place he shot up it's across portage ave, from the University of Winnipeg. In Canada police being slow with a videotape means you are innocent even if you did shoot up a car?  what Kind of logic is that?

No wonder most Canadians want less immigration eh Rachel I bet she's in the minority.

Sran said that most of what is published in those articles is untrue.

He has since contacted both The Free Press and The Sun, as well as seeking a legal opinion about what was printed. He said that rumours have been circulating about him, including one that he was going to kill his campaign opponents, which he dismissed. “I’ve never had possession of a gun or held a gun,” said Sran. ... Rachel Heinrichs, Sran’s campaign manager, said that his criminal record is a thing of the past, as students voted March 1 to 3 to elect Sran with 70 per cent of the popular vote. “I think students have shown that they’re capable of being skeptical of media information and that they can look at it and extract the truth – because obviously, they overwhelmingly chose Garry to be President.”

mcgilldaily

Now why would the law courts say he has a 10 year weapon prohibition if he never held a weapon.

Gosh rumours that he's threatening his opponents with death maybe the NDP can use that as a campaign tactic. Vote Rachel Heinrichs, or we'll send over the criminals we cavort with to,... you know.

She doesn't trust the media what about the police and law courts records??? He had one charge dropped but not all or he wouldn't finish being on parole.

I bet she wants to ban my weaponry, because I'm the problem not people shooting a clip off down town by the University of Winnipeg.

But along with being a student, Sran is also a convicted criminal and parolee. He spent time in jail last year and is currently on parole in connection with drug trafficking charges laid against him over two years ago. Sran was arrested along with four other people after a series of police raids uncovered one kilo of crack cocaine, 1.4 kilos of powdered cocaine, a sawed-off shotgun and almost $20,000 in cash. He was handed a three-year sentence. He served six months in prison last year and is now on parole. Sran also faced gun-related charges in connection to an August 2003 drive-by shooting in which a gunman shot up a parked car and building outside of the Latin Club at 500 Portage Ave. Those charges were dropped after a Winnipeg judge found police botched the investigation by delaying the videotaping of Sran's statement. Sran claimed in court he was beaten and degraded into making a false confession. "He was at the wrong place at the wrong time," said Rachel Heinrichs, Sran's campaign manager. "He got involved with people he should not have been involved with. But education has changed everything for him and he's turned his life completely around." Heinrichs spoke for Sran, saying he was busy with the election and was not able to comment directly. Caitlin Brown, chief returning officer for the UMSU elections, said there is nothing in the regulations or bylaws to prohibit a person with a criminal record from running for office. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.159.205.24 (talkcontribs) 16:16, November 15, 2006

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:University_of_Manitoba_Students'_Union *** Update *** I sent an email to the Heinrich's campaign directly and sent another to the NDP head office Saturday it's now Monday and there's still no response.

I would have liked to have found the winnipeg free Press or winnipeg sun articles but their memories are short.  They only go back hours whereas blogs have more money and keep everything on record for ever.
