It's a crisis. The voter turnout was the worst ever. Doesn't anybody bother to look at the facts anymore? According to Elections Canada, there were 990,641 fewer votes cast for the major parties this election than last. But pay close attention to the following: Support for the Liberal Party of Canada dropped by almost 850,000 votes. That's 85.7 percent of the missing voters. There's no crisis. Liberal voters sat this one out. They couldn't stomach Stephane Dion and/or his Green Shift taxes. That's the simple story you're not hearing anywhere. For the record, in the federal election of 2008 compared to the election of 2006:
The Conservatives lost 168,737 votes.
The NDP lost 75,522 votes.
The Bloc lost 173,636 votes.
The Green Party gained 276,679 votes.
...
And what about this gem that showed up in a National Post story:
"Ipsos Reid survey last month revealed that almost two-thirds of respondents viewed Liberals as dishonest; 80% deemed them stale; 63% thought them phony; and 66% perceived them "out of touch with Canadians like you." By the time Tuesday night's numbers rolled in, their popularity finished at an all-time low."
Never heard about this Ipsos Reid survey before did you? Who knew about it and held it back from the press. Goodness knows the newspapers lived on polls during this election.

Had the Obama camp not stuck microscopes up the asses of Joe The Plumber and Bristol Palin, I wouldn't be posting this. But they did, so I am...
*
Here is the purported evidence of Barack Obama’s mother, Stanley Ann Dunham Obama, in vintage nude photos from the 1960s. See the pictures, sources and commentary here. The story is culturally interesting to be sure, although it will not have any impact on the presidential race. They appear to be authentic yet we realize readers will want to review and judge for themselves and that anything is possible in a season of dirty campaign tricks.
The poses are tastefully done in what might be called artistic photos in which the photographer favors her butt. Obama’s mom is apparently wearing comically high heels for that time period, with a simple necklace and little makeup. The pics were reportedly located on a porno site whose name is evident on one of them, the “Free Vintage Porn” Whatchamacallit site. The origin is from a blogger who worked on a tip from a convincing insider. Hint for uncensored pics.

He's being honest to the Liberal base. At least that's what I'm getting from his most recent post :
A lot of Liberal friends are angry with CTV for the stunt they pulled with Stéphane Dion at the end of the campaign, and for their apparent enthusiasm for the likes of Messrs. LeDrew and Heard et al. And things like that.
They should be: CTV broke their journalistic word with the Dion interview, and their reliance on the likes of LeDrew and Heard doesn't serve their audience very well (although I suppose it's entertaining). But to fulminate and froth about CTV, as assorted Grits are now doing, makes you sound like crazy Blogging Tory fringe people, going on and on about mainstream media conspiracies.
Here's what I know:
• the head of CTV, Ivan Fecan, headed a major fundraiser for Jean Chrétien
• one of his senior Vice Presidents, Paul Sparkes, was Chrétien's Director of Operations
• the network's pollster, Peter Donolo, was Chrétien's Director of Communications
• Craig Oliver was one of the closest people to Pierre Trudeau, and used to go on annual canoe trips with him
• Jane Taber used to be regularly mocked by Frank magazine for being a Liberal shill
• Roger Smith's wife was a senior aide to Trudeau
• Jim Munson, a Liberal Senator, became a Chrétien aide after leaving a senior spot at CTV
• Mike Duffy is a creampuff, and has loyal friends in every party
• Seamus O'Regan hangs out with Justin Trudeau and Dalton McGuinty's former Principal Secretary
• Rosemary Thompson is a sweetheart, and used to date Liberals at Carleton (the shame!)
• Bob Fife would take down anyone, if they deserved it, regardless of party affiliation
And so on, and so on. Get the picture? CTV makes mistakes, like any big organization does. But to attack them all the time - like marginal Conservatives do - is dumb.
Right. Loosely translated: "Canada's biggest national TV network is still on our (the Liberal) side. The Duffy thing was just a mistake. Now STFU before your whining makes things worse!"
IRONY ALERT!!!
Does anyone else find it amusing that Kinsella derides conservatives for complaining about the liberal media bias while confirmining said liberal media bias?
In today's lesson, Warren learns that people pay attention and that google cache and screen caps last for ever.

Winnipeg Free Press on strike Reccomends group hugs, and putting out law abiding citizens to combat auto thefts.
They also credit other initiatives, like MPI’s immobilizer program for cars deemed most at risk to be stolen, as part of the dramatic decline.
Ie they want law abiding citizens to suffer because they don't want the punks to be in jail.
- Understanding the community and its problems (in the case of Winnipeg, acknowledging the existence of a sub-culture of underage car thieves stealing cars for enjoyment and not profit)
Now if they are doing it for fun tell me how this is a poverty issue? It's because MSM's and other ivory tower types do not care about victims,
- Developing programs and policies to deal with these problems in the context of the community (focus on outcomes, not process)
Ie punishment, jail, repayment of damages. Oh wait they want none of that.
The WATSS strategy began in 2005 with a price tag of $900,000. More than three years later, Linden and Munn-Venn write that fewer than 11 cars a day on average are stolen from city streets. It’s a far cry from the numbers chalked up between ‘03 and ‘06, which crowned Winnipeg the stolen car capital of North America.
Free Press on crack
The one thing they don't want is some SOB whose stolen over 10 cars to actually remain in jail. 900,000 well someone got a nice house to try yet again something other than punishment. Were fewer cars stolen in 1960 than today because they had better immobilizers? Nope, nope, nope. But lets not look at what else might have changed more group hugs, more money to fight the root cause of laziness, then pretend you are shocked when we don't get back to the 1960 levels of crime. 2001??? the train was well off the rails by then.

Barack Obama pals around with terrorists
Sadly the MSM is too busy villifying a plumber (for asking a question) to be bothered with a simple google search into Obama's background.

Leftie MoonBat becomes enraged at the sight of a McCain/Palin sign, rips said sign out of the hands of the person holding it and then beats the McCain/Palin supporter with a stick.
I followed him down the stairs to the subway until I could get the
police and I said, “You’re not going to get away with it.” And as soon
as he saw the police he immediately went calm. He still had the stick
in his hand, and you could see the injury on my face, and he admitted
it. He was arrested. He actually said, “I don’t know why I did this.
It’s just those signs, and this election, it has me so upset.”
Was "Canadian Cynic" in New York recently? That sort of crap seems right up his alley...
Detailed account here . h/t to the Ace of Spades .

Even during a nasty campaign, and after putting up with that jackass Letterman, he can still find a little time for humor. Watch both clips. It's worth your time.
See, I told ya it'd be worth your time...
On an even lighter note, Obama bombed. Big time .

First the video, then the qualifier:
As the video indicates, a lot of dumb people are going to cast their votes but here's the problem I have; Are those folks dumb because they're not capable of critical thought or is it because they're not given the information they need to make an informed decision? I would assert that it's the latter.
It starts with the public schools. Civics classes are all but non existent. The history taught is of the revisionist variety. (Case in point; My 11th grade social studies text asserted that 17th century sailors used their own urine to brush their teeth. It was a falt out lie. Columbus didn't piss into a cup so he could put his Oral-B to good use.) If we're going to change things, we've got to start with the schools...
