Serener than thou Print E-mail
Monday, 28 April 2008Giacomo Vigna, the CHRC lawyer and ham actor, has decided he'd like a piece of the Warman-Kinsella defamation action. If you're having trouble keeping score, Warren Kinsella, who thinks I'm a Nazi and Ezra Levant's a Nazi and Kate McMillan's a Nazi and Jay Currie's a Nazi, is suing because somebody called him a Nazi. Stormfront member Richard Warman, who's testified under oath (after initially denying it) that he goes on hate websites and posts messages under false names, is suing people who say he goes on hate websites and posts messages under false names. And now Giacomo Vigna, the genius hired at Canadian taxpayers' expense by the CHRC, is suing Ezra Levant for, er, comparing him to an incident on "Seinfeld". Given that the Canadian Islamic Congress "human rights" complaint on Maclean's "flagrant Islamophobia" includes my review of "Little Mosque On The Prairie", the deranged Dominion is clearly determined to be the world leader in sitcom jurisprudence.
Who knows? If this ever comes to court, Maitre Vigna may yet top his legendary performance at the "human rights" tribunal:
I don’t feel very well. I feel dizzy, I feel anxiety, and I am not in a serene state of mind to proceed with this file today. I have a lot of things worrying me right now and I don’t want to elaborate… I am not dying, Mr. Chair, I don’t have the flu, but I am not mentally capable of proceeding under these circumstances.
